Isn’t it ironic that many teenagers, though fluent in multiple computer languages, are not expected to understand or care about things like personal finance, politics, or our faith? We’re not even expected to be capable of carrying on an intelligent conversation with an adult.
Isn’t it something wrong when girls are constantly judged on their physical appearance and pressed to become more and more sexually provocative, yet are so rarely expected to develop qualities of character and intellect beneath the surface?

When I make a commitment, I have to let go of other choices. We forge our future by a commitment. A fearful or passive or indecisive person, a wavering person ends up an unhappy person, an unfulfilled and fragmented person. Trying to keep all options open, we realize none of them.

How do we let our friends know we’ve changed? We tell them. We show them. If we really are different, we will be willing to say so and then show it by our actions. If we can’t do that, either we have not really changed, or we care more about what other people think than about what God thinks.
